So much is in our names: family tradition, ancestry, expectations, culture, religion, birth order, hierarchy, gender, history, characteristics, professions, landscapes, natural phenomena, origins, migration, oppression, misunderstandings, trends, legislation, a child's right, and much more.
We are collecting stories of names to enable unexpected encounters in this time of social isolation. In a delightful and profound exploration, the diversity in the city of Zurich will be shown through personal names. The name stories will be presented as part of the About Us! Zürich Interkulturell program weeks in September 2021 in a public staging, and they will be accessible online.
